And She'll Think I'm Strange

Literature Text

I stroll down an empty street
and stare at the hollow sky
which resembles my frail heart.
It pulsates, pants; it's petrified.
It doesn't want to beat anymore.
I need rest. I can't walk any longer.

Loneliness has gotten the better of me.
I'm so full of depravity
that I'll talk to a beautiful stranger
and ask her to lay next to me
on a lush front lawn belonging
to someone who doesn't know my name.
And she'll think I'm strange.

But she'll comply
because she wants to transcend
being strangers to everyone
and she'll smile at me.
A grin I've never seen before
yet it seems so familiar.
We'll lie down until the day
when the owner scares us away.
I don't know haha... I wonder how writing poems would be different if I wasn't as lonely. Probably wouldn't have as much to write about :P

As usual, this poem has gorgeous flow. I like how each stanza conveys a different emotion; it's very original. Your works bring a smile to my face every time :)
